The colourful Grandma Moses

If you’re looking for inspiration, look no further than reknown folk artist, Grandma Moses.

Born in 1860, she grew up as a farmer’s daughter, left home at the age of 12 to work as a live-in housekeeper for 15 years, married at 27 and had 10 children, five who survived infancy. She was busy!

Her desire to paint was her childhood dream and she had to set aside this dream until later in life. Grandma Moses started painting in ernest at the age of 78 and demonstrates that you’re never too old to start something new!

Her work has been exhibited worldwide and it has been extensively merchandixed on greeting cards, postage stamps etc.
